Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke

Around midnight on Saturday, Police responded to a report of gunshots in the Middle Terrace, Pembroke area. A 22 year old Pembroke man subsequently attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg. His injuries are not life threatening; as a result he was treated and released. Disturbance/Assault

Around 1:30am on Friday, Police received a report of a disturbance/assault outside The Bistro at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that the victim, a 32 year old Pembroke man, was assaulted by a group of men. As a result he sustained serious injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The Pembroke man is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. Robbery

At 2:50pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that earlier the victim, a taxi driver, picked up three young men from outside Brown & Co. on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton and transported them to the Cedar Hill, Warwick area. As the taxi entered St. Mary’s Church parking lot the passengers robbed the taxi driver, removing a quantity of cash from his pocket before exiting the taxi and fleeing on foot through St. Mary’s Church graveyard. The taxi driver, a 74 year old Warwick man, was not injured. The first suspect is described as a medium brown skinned man, approximately 5’7” tall of slim build with close cut hair wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt. The second suspect is described as slightly darker skinned than the first and was wearing different clothing but had similar characteristics. All three suspects are believed to be 18 – 24 years of age. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Reported Firearm Incident

Police received an anonymous report of an unconfirmed firearm incident that took place a few minutes before 1pm on Tuesday. The incident reportedly occurred on Union Street in Pembroke. Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

Police responded to a report of a confirmed firearm incident that took place at 3:45 this afternoon at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road in Sandys parish. It appears that a man traveling on a motorcycle in the aforementioned area was shot. The 19 year old man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Robbery

Police responded to a report of a robbery that took place a few minutes after twelve this morning. It appears that a 16 year old boy was traveling on South Road in Smith's parish when he was forced to stop by 2 men on a motorcycle. The boy was threatened by the men with a weapon they then robbed him of his helmet, I-Pod, mobile phone and black leather bag with Real Madrid logo on the front of the bag. The suspects are described as: (suspect 1) a black male between 5'11" and 6 feet tall and (suspect 2) is described as a light complexioned male approximately 5'11" tall. Theft

Police responded to a report of a theft at 11:30am yesterday at Cashew City in St. George's. The complainant stated that he returned to his premises on earlier that day only to notice that someone stole his Mariner 80hp engine from his premises. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Burglary

Police are reporting a breaking and entering that took place yesterday at a residence on Broken Hill in Smith's parish. The complainants stated that they left their home secured in the morning only to return in the evening to find out that a thief gained entry into their home and stole a Toshiba laptop, a black Olympus 510 camera, a white gold and ruby ring, a charm bracelet and an undisclosed amount of cash. Burglary

On Tuesday August 17th police responded to a report of a burglary that took place at the Crawl Hill Gas Station. It appears that approximately 11:30pm a store worker arrived on the premises only to notice the front door glass was smashed and someone had gained unlawful entry onto the property. The suspect(s) stole an undisclosed amount of cigarette cartons (Marlboro and Camels). Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police attended a residence on Harvey Road in Paget yesterday as a result of a report of a breaking and entering. The complainant states that he left his residence at 2:30pm and returned a few hours later only to notice that someone smashed a glass window and gained entry into his home. Police attended a dwelling on Jennings Road in Smith's parish yesterday as a result of a report of breaking and entering. The complainant states that someone gained entry into his home around 11:30am and stole 5 diamond rings, a Tag Heuer watch, 3 gold necklaces, a gold watch and other valuables. On Sunday a report was made at the Somerset Police Station about a breaking and entering that took place on Rockaway Drive in Southampton. Around 12:05am on Monday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident at the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club on North Shore Road in Devonshire. Suspicious Circumstances at Penno’s Wharf St. George’s

Around 2:50pm on Tuesday, Police received information of the presence of a possible weapon at the cruise ship terminal at Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s. Efforts were made to locate an individual that was believed to be off the cruise ship as well as the item in question. The search resulted in a delay in some passengers being transported back to the cruise ship by the tender. Police inquires are ongoing and further information will be released as the investigation progresses. One individual off the cruise ship is assisting Police with their inquiries. The matter is being investigated by the Serious Crime Unit who are being assisted by officers from Southside Police Station as well as other units within the Bermuda Police Service. Around 7:40pm on Sunday, Police responded to a reported firearm incident in the Boaz Island, Sandys parish area. Officers attended the area; however at that time nothing was found to substantiate the report. At 2:35pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Tribe Road #3, Devonshire residence. Robbery

Around 12:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that around 11:30am that day the victim, a 37 year old Warwick woman, was walking west along the Railway Trail in Paget near the junction with Ord Road when she was accosted by an unknown young man who was also walking in the area. The suspect brandished a bladed article and demanded the victim’s BlackBerry cellular phone, which she gave him. The suspect then fled on foot heading east along the Railway Trail. The Warwick woman was not injured. The suspect was described as a brown skinned male, approximately 5’9” – 6’ tall weighing around 165 pounds wearing a white T-shirt and basketball shorts. Armed Robbery in Devonshire

Around 11pm on Sunday, Police responded to a home invasion at a residence on Upland Street in Devonshire Parish. It appears that armed men gained entry into the residence and robbed the occupants. Police attended the area and conducted a search at the residence and surrounding areas for the suspects with negative results. Police can confirm that one of the occupants did receive injuries as a result of being assaulted. A full investigation into this incident has commenced and Police are appealing for witnesses. Around 9:30am today (Wednesday), Police received a report of a removed vehicle. The complainant stated that sometime between 8pm on Tuesday and 8am on Wednesday an unknown culprit removed her car, a purple Suzuki Alto with license plate 40075, from outside her Point Shares Road, Pembroke residence.

Around 9:30am on Saturday, Police received a report of a removed vehicle. The complainant stated that sometime between 12:05am on Tuesday, July 6th and 7:45am on Saturday, July 10th an unknown culprit removed her car, a black Rover with yellow rims and license plate 32085, from outside her Dunscombe Road, Warwick residence.

Witness Appeal - Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 2:05pm on Saturday 10th July 2010, in the area of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys parish. The victim, a 30 year old Paget man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, he has received medical treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for his injury and was released a short time later. The injury is not believed to be life threatening. At 9:40pm today, Police responded to reports of gun shots being fired in the area of White Hill and George's Bay Road in Sandys parish. Police canvassed the area and ascertained that it was indeed a confirmed firearm incident. At this juncture we can report that no one has been shot, after canvassing the area and checking with the hospital. There is a strong Police presence in the area and an investigation into this incident is underway.
